North Point Hospitality Group, Inc. Breaks Ground on New Homewood Suites by Hilton Savannah Historic District/Riverfront

North Point Hospitality Group, Inc. broke ground on its newest hotel, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Savannah Historic District/Riverfront this week. The 162-unit, all suite Homewood Suites by Hilton Savannah Historic District/Riverfront will be located on the East end of River Street at the corner of Bay Street and River Street.

Jay Patel, President and CEO of North Point Hospitality Group. “Our Homewood Suites by Hilton Savannah Historic District/Riverfront will provide a new option in Savannah’s Historic District for those needing the comforts of a home away from home.”

Along with traditional Homewood Suites amenities including a free, hot breakfast served daily and complimentary dinner and drinks served Monday through Thursday, the property will include premier meeting space, valet parking and a resort-style, roof-top pool with beverage service overlooking the Savannah River.

Approximately 250 individuals will be engaged by the general contractor and its subcontractors during peak construction activity. Once stabilized, the hotel will employ more than 75 full-time team members and support staff. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2015. Pre sale and online reservations will be available in March 2014.

This property serves as the first addition to the company’s newest planned development, River Street East. River Street East is a phased mixed-use development including multiple hotels, retail space, riverfront dining with captivating views of the Savannah River and a 500-space parking structure, all wholly owned and operated by North Point Hospitality Group, Inc. at a total build out cost in excess of $150 million.

North Point Hospitality Group, Inc. currently owns and operates four Hilton branded hotels in the Savannah area, totaling 537 rooms in the market. In 2014, the company expects to break ground on five hotels in the Southeast, comprising of 760 rooms at a Total Project Development Cost of $155 million.
