Home2 Suites by Hilton today celebrated the topping out of the brand’s first hotel in Nashville, Tenn. Owner and developer North Point Hospitality Group broke ground on the property in Spring 2011 and has now officially laid the final beam to complete the outside structure.

New Hilton-brand hotel opening in Nashville

The 66,000-square-foot Home2 Suites will include 119 rooms over seven stories, according to Lizabeth Theiss, director of business development with J.E. Crain & Son, which will break ground on the project next month. Currently, 20 Home2 Suites are under construction or breaking ground across the United States. Only two are currently open.

An Alpharetta developer plans to build a rare dual-branded hotel on a site at 10th and Williams streets in Midtown Atlanta. The 11-story structure will fly two Hilton flags â€" Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites By Hilton â€" and be the first hotel in Atlanta built for the purpose of having two brands for two distinct customers under one roof, said S. Hotel operator buys site in Midtown Atlanta

Midtown may be getting yet another hotel, this one across the Downtown Connector from Georgia Tech. North Point Hospitality Group, Inc. of Alpharetta purchased 0.69 of an acre at the corner of 10th and Williams streets to build a Hilton Garden Inn or a Hilton Homewood Suites, according to Databank. The site is now a parking lot behind H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Directors where the homeless frequently sleep.

Nashville's Prime Midtown Property getting hotel

A prime piece of Midtown real estate is getting a Hilton Garden Inn, and maybe more. Alpharetta, Ga.-based North Point Hospitality Group has started tearing down the Roesch-Patton Funeral Home at 1713 Broadway to make way for the nine-story, 192-room hotel. J.E. Crain & Son, which recently built the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown, will construct the Hilton Garden Inn.

North Point is believed to have plans for a second hotel on the 1.67-acre site. Attempts to reach a company official for comment weren't immediately successful.
