North Point Hospitality Breaks Ground On First Tri-Branded Marriott Hotel In U.S.

Unveils One of a Kind LEGO® Model of New Nashville Hotel

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (July 15, 2016) – North Point Hospitality, an Atlanta based hotel development and management company, has broken ground on the first tri-branded Marriott Hotel in the U.S.; and unveiled an original 300-pound model of the hotel made with 63,636 LEGO bricks. The commissioned model was designed by award-winning master artist Sean Kenney.

The tri-branded $137 million, 470-room Marriott will include a 209-room AC Hotel, a 136-room Residence Inn and a 125-room SpringHill Suites. Expected to open mid-year 2018, all guests of the three hotels will have access to the full service amenities within this landmark tri-branded property.

“This is an historic day for Nashville and the Marriott brand. We are excited to partner with Marriott to bring this tri-branded design to ‘booming’ Nashville,” said S. Jay Patel, President and CEO of North Point Hospitality. “Having successfully developed a dual-branded hotel in the past, the tri-branded concept was a natural progression.”

Though customers will encounter one main entrance, once inside, guests will experience three distinct hospitality brands. Hotel guests will be offered a wider variety of amenities and options to serve all their travel needs such as a larger than traditional fitness center and multiple food and beverage options not normally offered at each individual brand.

“North Point Hospitality has continuously produced first-class Marriott-branded hotels. When partnering with a development company to build the first tri-branded Marriott hotel in the country, it was evident Jay Patel and North Point Hospitality were the clear choice to bring this one-of-a-kind product into the multifaceted Nashville market. We look forward to our continued partnership with Jay and the North Point Hospitality team,” said Arne Sorenson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International.

Located just one block from the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, the AC Hotel rooms will face Korean Veterans Boulevard, and the Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites rooms will face Fifth Avenue South in the SoBro neighborhood. The location is convenient for business travelers attending meetings and conventions at the Music City Center and for leisure guests visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, the Johnny Cash Museum, Bridgestone Arena, Lower Broadway’s honky-tonk district, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and the area’s many restaurants.

The hotels will have six food and beverage outlets, including innovative restaurants at street level, a unique indoor/outdoor resort-style pool bar and fitness center on the sixth floor. Located on the 21st floor, a rooftop bar and patio will offer panoramic views of the Nashville skyline and will be open to locals and guests of the hotels.

Included in the 470 rooms are a 1,400 square-foot presidential suite, 48 one-bedroom suites with kitchens, 154 standard suites and 80 studios with kitchens.
There will be nearly 4,000 square feet of meeting space located on the top floor with soaring 16-foot floor-to-ceiling windows offering natural light and an unobstructed view of downtown Nashville. Valet parking will be offered on-site with a 353 space parking garage.

In celebration of today’s ground breaking and North Point Hospitality Group’s commitment to the Nashville community, the company donated 10 musical instruments to the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s music-making programs. The Museum conducts monthly instrument workshops, providing introductory hands-on experiences with country music’s core instruments to youth and family visitors, as well as outreach programs that take instruments and staff into the community for programs at neighborhood centers and library branches. Last year, the Museum reached more than 15,000 people through 187 youth and family programs exploring country music’s building blocks and teaching its traditions.
