NASHVILLE AND SAVANNAH SALES TEAM VOLUNTEER BRIGHT AND EARLY

Both our Nashville and Savannah teams were out bright and early volunteering and supporting their communities.

Our Nashville attended Walk Bike Nashville’s Walk to School Day at Shwab Elementary. Walk Bike Nashville is dedicated to working towards a more walkable, bikeable, and livable Nashville. Our Nashville team took pride in encouraging metro students to use active transportation such as walking and biking.

In Savannah, our team volunteered alongside The Savannah Downtown Business Association and community members for Broughton Street’s second cleanup. The SDBA works with the Savannah community to clean up the downtown area in pristine condition.

SAVANNAH SALES TEAM VOLUNTEERS AT BROUGHTON STREET CLEANUP

The Savannah Downtown Business Association and several members in the community helped beautify Broughton Street. Our Savannah sales team, general managers, housekeeping, guest service, human resources, and accounting managers spent their morning cleaning up Broughton Street. Despite the heat, our team took pride in helping to keep Savannah clean. This marked the start of a recurring event to keep Downtown clean for locals and visitors alike!

North Point Teams Up with Fight Dirty Tybee

North Point teamed up with Fight Dirty Tybee for the second time during our mid-corporate retreat for a beach cleanup. Fight Dirty is Tybee Island’s grassroots anti-litter campaign dedicated to providing a healthy beach environment. Fight Dirty Tybee is also committed to finding innovative and effective ways to reduce beach trash.

Together, our team spent the afternoon collecting bottles, plastic debris, trash, and cigarette butts. North Point Hospitality had a great time coming together and helping #FightDirtyTybee!

Savannah Sales Team Volunteers at P.A.C.K.

Our Savannah team volunteered at P.A.C.K., People of Action Caring for Kids. P.A.C.K. is a 501 c-3 non-profit committed to meeting the basic needs of children within the local community. In Southern Georgia alone, 1 in 4 children live in homes where having enough food is a day-to-day struggle. P.A.C.K. is committed to not only packing, but also delivering over 10,000 bags a month to children in Chatham County and surrounding areas.

Our team worked together to prep meal bags and make cards for local children to enjoy! It was such a memorable experience from start to finish, packing around 450 meal bags. North Point Hospitality is committed to giving back to the community of Savannah with the focus of caring for our neighbors and children in need.

Hurricane Florence

After Hurricane Florence, our corporate team stepped in to support employees working at the SpringHill Suites in Lumberton, NC who were affected by the widespread flooding that damaged a number of homes and structures. North Point Hospitality hosted a relief drive in Savannah, Georgia to collect much-needed supplies. Items donated included boxes of toiletries, cleaning supplies and necessities which filled two vans and an entire U-Haul trailer to deliver to Lumberton. North Point Hospitality’s initiative to invest their time and efforts for their employees emphasizes their passion and commitment and makes them an employer of choice.

Fight Dirty Tybee

Savannah team members and their families volunteered their time to help clean the beach with Fight Dirty Tybee through Tybee Clean Beach Volunteers. Tybee Clean Beach Volunteers is a grass-roots organization made up of volunteers that sweep Tybee’s beaches free of trash on a regular basis. Staff members spent over an hour combing through wrack and cleaned up thousands of cigarette butts, bottle caps, plastic debris and trash.

Alongside area business leaders, Executive Vice President Whip Triplett participated in a CEO Build through the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity. This national program allows top executives to come together and help transform their communities by working alongside local, hardworking families to build a safe, decent and affordable place to call home. This house just happens to belong to a member of the local hospitality industry.

America’s Second Harvest Food Bank

Representatives from North Point Hospitality help stock the shelves at America’s Second Harvest Food Bank. Each day the food bank receives truck loads of donated goods that need to be unpackaged, organized and then placed on the shelves of their 30,000 square foot warehouse. With a very limited staff, the organization relies heavily on volunteers in the community to assist in this process.

Children Across Borders

North Point Hospitality is proud to support Children Across Borders with a $20,000 donation to help fund their mission. Children Across Borders is a charitable organization that provides financial and non-financial support to children-focused, non-profit, grass roots organizations primarily in the areas of education, health, housing and wellness across the United States and India today, and the world tomorrow.

Clean The World

North Point Hospitality proudly supports Clean the World, an organization that gives discarded bars of soap and plastic shampoo/conditioner bottles a second life. Clean the World sterilizes, re-manufactures, and distributes hygiene products to those that need it – aiming to prevent both waste and hygiene-related illnesses. The bars of soaps are distributed to third world countries while the plastic bottles are distributed domestically to various shelters. In a calendar year, North Point Hospitality averages over 2,000 lbs of soap and 321 lbs of plastic bottles.

As part of the groundbreaking celebration for the Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta Midtown in March 2018, North Point Hospitality extended its commitment to Georgia State University’s Hospitality Scholarship Fund with an additional $25,000 donation. This increases the total donated to the Scholarship Fund to $50,000, reinforcing North Point Hospitality’s commitment to hospitality education in the region.

Each year, the SDRA, along with various other community partners and volunteers, come together to help clean up various neighborhoods throughout Savannah’s Historic District.

Susan G. Komen of Coastal Georgia launched the inaugural “Big Wig Campaign” September 15, 2014. Gina Peper, the VP of Sales & Marketing for North Point Hospitality, was one of 10 community leaders (Bigwigs, if you will) to lead the campaign. To assist in raising funds for the campaign, Gina implemented “Jeans Friday” for the month of October where employees could make a donation to the campaign and wear jeans on a Friday in October. The campaign’s main goal was to help under-insured women in the Coastal Georgia region receive access to breast health care. The team began with a team goal of $10,000 and met that within the first week. In the end, the campaign raised over $30,000 for early detection of breast cancer.

Xcel | A Mentoring Network

North Point Hospitality is excited to partner with Xcel Today. As a mentoring network, Xcel exists to fuel young men with a purpose and passion to reach the fullness of their potential through a network of wise, seasoned, and trained mentors. Xcel’s vision is to build a courageous and bold generation of mentors to solve the epidemic problem of fatherlessness in our communities.
