North Point Hospitality Group, Inc. today announced the ground breaking of its newest hotel project, a dual branded Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel. The official ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 18 at 2pm with elected officials, local dignitaries and Senior Executives from Hilton Hotels Corporation and North Point Hospitality Group in attendance.

The hotels will be constructed simultaneously and housed within a 12-story tower. The hotels are located at the northeast corner of 10th Street and Williams Street, and will enjoy tremendous visibility and easy access to and from the Downtown Connecter. Combined, the two hotels will have 226 units and will include meeting and conference facilities accommodating up to 200 persons, a 110-seat full service restaurant and lounge, an outdoor elevated pool and spa as well as an expanded fitness center and valet parking.

We are pleased to be able to deliver two industry leading brands to the Midtown Atlanta market. By building the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton side by side, we will better accommodate a wide range of guests’ lodging needs for both the business and leisure traveler in the Midtown area,” said S. Jay Patel, President and CEO of North Point Hospitality Group. “The hotels’ location is key. It is just minutes from Georgia Tech, Turner Broadcasting, Coca Cola, the Woodruff Arts Center and over 20 million square feet of office space.

This prime location is currently an undeveloped parking lot and is underutilized for the upscale Atlanta Midtown market. Approximately 200 employees will be engaged by the general contractor and its subcontractors during peak construction activity. Once stabilized the hotel will employ more than 100 full-time team members and support staff with a scheduled opening in the first quarter of 2013. Pre sale and online reservations will be available in early 2012.
