NASHVILLE, Tenn. — February 27, 2019 — Marriott International today announced the opening of its first newly built property that combines three brands under one roof in vibrant Nashville, across from Music City Convention Center. Developed by North Point Hospitality, the 21-story, $140 million property features three Marriott brands – design-forward AC Hotels, extended stay Residence Inn and stylishly spacious SpringHill Suites – offering business and leisure travelers distinct experiences and amenities under one roof.

“Music City is the perfect place for Marriott to make history with its first newly built, triple-brand property,” says Eric Jacobs, Marriott International, Chief Development Officer, Select and Extended Stay Brands. “Bringing these three differentiated brands together will help travelers find the perfect accommodation – whether they are in Nashville to explore the city’s famed honky tonks and exploding restaurant scene, complete a work assignment, attend a convention, or perhaps even accommodate a large group with different needs, such as a family reunion.”

The property, located across from the city’s convention center, also underscores Marriott’s growing number of multi-brand properties that can cater to several customer segments at one convenient location. The company now has 98 properties with two brands, with 144 more under development worldwide.

“We are incredibly proud to debut Marriott International’s first newly built triple-brand property created from the ground up in the heart of exciting downtown Nashville,” said S. Jay Patel, President and CEO of North Point Hospitality. “By combining AC Hotels, Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites, we’re delivering a hotel with enhanced guest experiences and elevated amenities across the three brands.”

Meetings and Conventions: Nashville to Get Country’s First Tri-Branded Marriott Hotel

By | Marriott, Opening | No Comments

Ever since the May 2013 opening of Music City Center, Nashville has become a hotbed of ambitious hotel development that shows no signs of slowing. Every hotel brand, it seems, has put this long-time bastion of country music on its “must plant a flag” list, and that has caused the city’s downtown skyline to change dramatically.

Adding frenzy to the development scene was the news this past May that the National Football League had selected Nashville as host city for the 2019 National Football League Draft, a multi-day media spectacle that is expected to draw 20,000 fans and a combined 45.4 million television and online viewers across four networks.

According to Music City, the city’s destination marketing arm, 18 new hotels have opened in the last two years alone, adding 2,691 rooms to the city’s inventory; and another 10 properties, representing 1,504 additional rooms, are in the pipeline.

While glittering new additions like the 533-room JW Marriott Nashville, which opened in July, and the 350-room W Nashville, scheduled to debut in 2020, might have stolen the development spotlight, that’s about to change. Why? Because, the city is about to get a tri-branded Marriott hotel, the first in the country.
