Governor Brian Kemp Appoints Whip M. Triplett to Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority
SAVANNAH, GA. — Governor Brian Kemp has appointed local Savannah hospitality leader Whip M. Triplett to the Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority, the state authority that governs the Savannah Convention Center and the development of the new Signia by Hilton Savannah.
The appointment comes as the expanded Convention Center is open and the 444-room Signia by Hilton Savannah, the campus headquarters hotel, is under construction and slated to open in mid-2028.
“I am honored to be appointed by Governor Kemp and to have the opportunity to serve Savannah, Chatham County, and the State of Georgia,” Triplett said. “With the expanded Convention Center and the Signia by Hilton now under construction, Savannah has an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen its position as one of the premier convention and hospitality destinations in the Southeast. I look forward to working with my Authority colleagues and our tourism and hospitality partners to help realize that potential.”
Triplett is chief operating officer of North Point Hospitality, a Georgia-headquartered hotel development and management company with a significant presence in Savannah. From Savannah, he has overseen operations and development across the company’s Southeast portfolio, including hotels and projects in Atlanta, Nashville and Savannah. He has more than 40 years in the industry and more than 25 years in Savannah, spanning development, operations, and sales and marketing.
He is a past chair of The Tourism Leadership Council, Visit Savannah, and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, and serves on Hilton’s Product Advisory Council.
