The 66,000-square-foot Home2 Suites will include 119 rooms over seven stories, according to Lizabeth Theiss, director of business development with J.E. Crain & Son, which will break ground on the project next month. Currently, 20 Home2 Suites are under construction or breaking ground across the United States. Only two are currently open.
The project’s cost was not immediately available.
The hotel will contain several sustainable components such as dual-flush toilets, lobby accent walls produced from recycled materials, energy-efficient lighting and high-efficiency windows. The Home2 Suites brand was highlighted earlier this week in a blog by Forbes Magazine listing several “green” hotel chains across the country.
Home2 Suites will share the parking garage with the current Hilton Garden Inn. Atlanta-based North Point Hospitality Group, which developed the Hilton Garden Inn, also is developing the Home2 Suites.
